Life On Lake Cachuma: Troop 256 May Fishing Trip.

Well, it was yet another adventure for ol' Troop 256. We came, we fished, we conquered. All in all, the boys had a great time.

Thanks to Bruce's connections, we had the best two lots on the whole campground. We were constantly surrounded by beautiful views of the lake.

The boys did a good job of cooking breakfast. We were all expecting the usual dose of burnt everything, but to our surprise we had some of the most delicious pancakes to date.

Being on the lake was totally awesome. The views really made you appreciate nature. Bruce's brother in the law was kind enough to let us use his pontoon boat. It was very comfortable and fun.

Here is a pic of Tommy and Jason inside 'The King Commander'. The previous day Tommy went out with Ammon. It was a bit windy and by the end of the ride the two were soaking wet.

We had a nice fishing spot on the edge of the lake right under our campsite.

We caught three rainbow trout. We cooked one of them up, and it was absolutely tasty.

Moms, hope you don't mind the guts : )

Our Adventurous Trip to Lytle Creek!

This weekend Troop 256 enjoyed a trip to Lytle Creek.

After leaving the church around 3:30 and enduring 2 1/2 hours of traffic, we arrived to our destination, Applewhite campground.

We were very excited when we saw how cool the campsites were. We chose the one that was closest to the base of the mountain, and furthest away from everyone else.

Friday night was a blast! It consisted mainly of setting up camp, making dinner (those who actually brought dinner to make), roasting mallows, telling jokes and ghost stories (the haunting tales of faceless Tony was my favorite), and pretty much just enjoying each other's company.

Saturday was equally as awesome! Here are snapshots of the boys enjoying the campsite:

After making breakfast and packing up, we headed over to the Bonita Falls trail. It was a short hike, only about a mile, but the scenery was amazing and the terrain was very fun to walk on.

The highlight of the hike was definitely arriving to Bonita Falls, and being surprised at how big and beautiful it actually was.

We hung out around the falls for about 30 minutes, it was a lot of fun!

From here we hiked back to the cars and drove home... it was a good trip!
